:AKNS), a leading designer and installer of solar power systems, today announced it installed a 134 kilowatt (kW) solar power system for a prominent biotech company based in Burlingame, California Burlingame is a city in San Mateo County, California, which is the second wealthiest county in the state, as well as the fourteenth richest in the country. It is located on the San Francisco Peninsula and has a significant shoreline on San Francisco Bay. .

Akeena Solar installed 645 high-efficiency solar panels on the biotech company's roof. The system will deliver substantial environmental and financial benefits; it will eliminate harmful emissions produced by fossil fuels and will lower its electricity bills by approximately $24,000 per year. Additionally, over half the installation costs will be covered by California's solar rebate program and a federal tax credit of approximately 30 percent.
