Tripath Technology Inc. (Nasdaq:TRPH TRPH Total Recoverable Petroleum Hydrocarbons ), creators of Digital Power Processing (DPP DPP - Dining Philosophers Problem (R)), announced today its Class-T(TM) 1-bit digital audio amplifiers have been chosen by Aiwa, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Corporation, for its latest HT-DV1 Powered DVD DVD: see digital versatile disc.

Popularized by the movie Jurassic Park, the six-channel (5. (TM)/Dolby Digital decoder, 5 satellite speakers and a sub-woofer allowing consumers to a enjoy a fully-integrated home entertainment system in a single box. Tripath's patented signal processing techniques are combined with a switching mode approach that generates high fidelity sound with significantly lower heat dissipation making it ideal for compact design applications. Tripath has already begun volume shipments and Aiwa's system will be available later this quarter.

Tripath's broad line of Class-T advanced 1-bit digital amplifiers are rapidly gaining market acceptance within high growth consumer electronics categories, such as powered DVD home theater systems, micro-component systems, set-top boxes, personal computers, LCD TVs and flat panel displays.
