Airtech Seeks Medicare Approval -- For Medicare Reimbursement to Medicare Recipients for Airtech's Portable Photocatalytic Air Sterilizing Unit.

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 12, 1999--

Airtech International Group, Inc., (OTCBB OTCBB

See OTC Bulletin Board (OTCBB).
:AIRG) Announced today, the filing of an application with the Medicare Benefits Administration for approval of the company's portable air sterilization unit designed specifically for the Medicare recipient.

The model S-950 includes technology believed to be a "first" in successfully miniaturizing components into an efficient portable unitf patients suffering from asthma, emphysema, COPC, chronic bronchitis and pneumonia. The "user friendly" unit purifies the air of harmful particulate and gas molecules. Particulate have been singled out as one of the primary "triggers" to asthmatic attacks and other upper respiratory diseases which hospitalize hos·pi·tal·ize

tens of thousands of patients every year and reportedly cost Medicare billions of dollars in claims. It is currently estimated that there are currently over 40 million Medicare recipients -- a number that is expected to double by the year 2008.

Airtech's Model S-950 is a highly sophisticated piece of technology incorporating a state-of-the-art filtration and sterilization process. The new unit features a dual gas absorption layer, hospital grade HEPA filter, high output germicidal germicidal /ger·mi·ci·dal/ (jer?mi-si´d'l) antimicrobial (1).

Additional features include an Infrared Motion Detector that senses the presence of the patient and other moving objects in the area and automatically increases air purifier/sterilization performance -- a Toxic Chemical Sensor to Monitor Air Quality and a Service Monitoring system that indicates when filters need to be changed. No other portable technology exists in the marketplace that incorporates all these features and bottom-line performance. With a breakthrough in miniaturization of components, the Model S-950 measures just 21.5 inches in width, 18 inches in height, 8 inches in depth. The unit weighs approximately 23 pounds.

Airtech CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , C.J. Comu stated, "Airtech's testing and research indicates that the use of the S-950 air sterilizer by Medicare recipients who suffer from chronic upper respiratory disease such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema will save the Medicare xposure to harmful volatile organic compounds particulate, as well as airborne fungi, bacteria and viruses that cause patients with chronic illness to become acutely ill."

Distribution of the S-950 will be through a national network of Durable Medical Equipment Durable medical equipment is a term of art used to describe certain Medicare benefits, that is, whether Medicare may pay for the item. The item is defined by Title XVIII the Social Security Act:

Medical opinions vary, but the best estimate is that through the use of this device with certain classes of chronically ill elderly patients, it is estimated that the Federal Health Programs savings could be in excess of $100,000,000 dollars. The new product will be marketed under the trademark Airsopure PCO(R). The addition of a medical unit featuring PCO should further position both Airtech and Airsopure as the leaders in air purification for the twenty-first century.

The Airsopure PCO(R) captures and destroys 98% of airborne bacteria, including mycobacterium tuberculosis fungi and viruses, and 100% of mold spores.
