Airtech Forces Canada to Amend Smoking Law.

Airtech International Group, Inc. (OTCBB:AIRG) announced today that the Company has successfully lobbied the Province of British Columbia, Canada to amend their existing law banning smoking in public places. (See: March 6, 2000-PR).

In a stunning decision on March 22, 2000, B.C. Supreme Court Justice Sunni Stromberg-Stein ruled that the ban was enacted by the Workman's Compensation Board (WCB) without proper consultation, and is therefore null and void.

Vance Campbell, who speaks for a B.C. Coalition of Hospitality Organizations, said, "The no-smoking regulations have been a disaster for the hospitality industry costing 730 jobs and forcing six establishments to close their doors. A proposed solution involving ventilation was estimated to cost about $100 per cubic foot."
