Jul 17, 2006 Dallas Love Terminal Partners Love Terminal Partners, a group that owns the vacant Legend Airlines terminal at Dallas Love Field This article is about the airport. For the neighborhood, see Love Field, Dallas, Texas (Neighborhood). Dallas Love Field (IATA: DAL, ICAO: KDAL, FAA LID: DAL , filed suit in a US court Monday to block the deal forged by Dallas, Fort Worth, American Airlines and Southwest Airlines to gradually repeal the Wright Amendment. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram The Fort Worth Star-Telegram is a major U.S. daily newspaper serving Fort Worth and the western half of the North Texas area known as the Metroplex. Its area of domination is checked by its main rival, The Dallas Morning News reported that LTP LTP Long Term Potentiation LTP Local Transport Plan LTP Laptop LTP Linux Test Project LTP Liturgy Training Publications LTP Long Term Prediction LTP Last Traded Price LTP Learning Technologies Project (NASA) LTP Long Term Plan alleged the agreement violated antitrust law antitrust law Any law restricting business practices that are considered unfair or monopolistic. Among U.S. laws, the best known is the Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890, which declared illegal “every contract, combination…or conspiracy in restraint of trade or and compromised the value of the terminal, which the group has been attempting to sell to Pinnacle Airlines for $100 million. "The two dominant carriers in North Texas agreed not to compete," LTP attorney Bill Brewer told the Star-Telegram. "They're agreeing to stay out of each other's backyards, and that means consumers will have to put up with higher prices to travel." JetBlue Airways and Northwest Airlines also are lobbying against the deal, which must be approved the Congress. Jul 19, 2006 Dallas/Fort Worth Unless you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex The Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area, a title designated by the U.S. Census as of 2003, encompasses 12 counties within the U.S. state of Texas. The metropolitan area is further divided into two metropolitan divisions: Dallas–Plano–Irving (where the story is of seismic proportions), you may have missed this one: The cities of Dallas and Fort Worth have finally gotten together on the fate of Dallas Love Field, that thorn in the side of American Airlines, and hallowed turf for Southwest. If Congress goes along with the deal, Southwest could immediately begin through ticketing at DAL. That means passengers could fly to Love Field from anywhere in the country - if they first stop in a Wright Amendment state (Alabama, Mississippi, Missouri, Kansas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico or Texas). For example, that means flyers could buy a ticket from Dallas Love Field to Los Angeles - provided they stop first at, say, Albuquerque or El Paso. The way things stand, flyers have to buy a separate ticket to travel beyond the Wright states to anywhere in the country on a full-sized airplane. All long-haul restrictions at DAL would be lifted in 2014. That's what's in it for Southwest and the City of Dallas. American and Fort Worth would see Love Field's gates capped at 20 beginning in 2010. That would give Southwest 16 gates, and American and Continental two each. AA now has three gates. But losing one is no big deal - especially if it means Southwest - because of the gate caps - won't be able to grow full force from DAL. Another part of the compromise would see $150 to $200 million in improvements at the airport. There are other provisions too. But these are the biggies. The compromise was hammered out after exhaustive negotiations. Now all that remains is for Congress to go along with the agreement. And lawmakers have lots on their minds in a war-weary, illegal immigration-fixated country that's headed for fall elections. Jul 17, 2006 London Heathrow Express is teaming up with the innovative Canadian company SideTrack Technologies to offer an advertising first in Europe. Where now passengers if they look outside they see little more than their reflections when traveling through the tunnels at Heathrow, they will be treated to a series of illuminated images which turn into animated film as the train passes along at speed. All of the windows light up from the 'videowall' effect upon the tunnel sides. Working much like a child's flip book, the hi-tech system created by SideTrack Technologies, uses approximately 400 static printed images stretching around 1,500 feet. The train's motion in synch with a proprietary lighting system creates a 15 second, "television-like" commercial. The claim is that the sheer contrast between the ads and the blank walls, combined with the lack of competing advertisements within the tunnel produces some of the highest recall rates - nearly 80% - of any advertising media in its target market. Will it happen on the London Underground? Our photo shows a typical picture from the Boston Metro which has the system. http://www.heathrowexpress.com Jul 22, 2006 Los Angeles Power Outage Grounds Los Angeles Area Flights.
