Man Arrested After Heathrow Terminal Evacuated. A man was arrested under Britain's Terrorism Act after a terminal at London's Heathrow Airport was evacuated on Tuesday because of a suspicious bag, police said. Oct 10, 2006

Airbus A380 Delay No Impact On Heathrow Upgrade - BAA. UK airport operator BAA said on Tuesday delays in deliveries of the Airbus A380 superjumbo would have no impact on a USD$840 million upgrade at London's Heathrow Airport to accommodate larger planes. Oct 10, 2006

London City sold to AIG/GE/Credit Suisse consortium. London City Airport has been acquired by a consortium comprising AIG Financial Products, a subsidiary of American International Group, and Global Infrastructure Partners, a joint venture between Credit Suisse and GE Infrastructure. Dermot Desmond, the Irish billionaire who bought the loss-making airport in the London Docklands for [pounds sterling]14.5 million ($27 million) in 1995, announced his intention to sell the airport earlier this year. Last month he said he would sell LCY, which handled 2 million passengers in 2005, to "whoever provides the most money." Price of the transaction was not disclosed but could be up to [pounds sterling]750 million. AIG Financial Products and Global Infrastructure Partners each will hold 50% in LCY. The sale remains subject to EU merger clearance and is expected to close in November. Oct 12, 2006

US Consortium To Buy London City Airport. A US financial consortium including insurer American International Group has agreed to buy London City Airport for an undisclosed sum, the group said on Wednesday. Oct 11, 2006
