Airline cash helps in bid.SOLIHULL AN airline has its feet firmly on the ground after bosses signed up to a sponsorship deal with Solihull Council. Award-winning bmibaby is one of many businesses in Solihull which has teamed up with the council to sponsor a traffic island. The airline has chosen the Bickenhill Lane roundabout as its sponsorship platform and said it was "extremely happy" with the site. The sponsorship generated helps the council enter the regional Heart of England in Bloom competition, where environmental standards, community involvement and promotion are judged. Helen Smith, marketing manager for bmibaby, said: "The sponsorship enables everyone in the local community to benefit and promotes bmibaby in a unique and eye-catching way." The council is looking for more businesses to sponsor islands in Solihull.
