The State Department today temporarily modified its new passport rules, allowing U.S. citizens to travel to and from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda if they have applied for a passport, but have not yet received one Jun 8, 2007

US Airlines Raise Some Domestic Fares. Major US airlines have boosted fares in some domestic markets, matching an increase initiated by low-cost carrier AirTran Airways, airlines, analysts and travel web sites reported. The increase of USD$5 one-way for advance purchases and USD$10 one-way for walk-up and business fares was launched in some markets on Monday by low-cost carrier AirTran. The fare increase marks the latest test of pricing power by airlines that have struggled this year to continue a 2006 string of fare hikes to boost revenue and offset skyrocketing jet fuel prices. Northwest Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

Northwest Airlines, in cooperation with its joint venture partner KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, today continued the expansion of its European flight network with the start of nonstop service between Northwest's WorldGateway at Detroit hub and Dusseldorf, Germany. Flight 94 departed Detroit fifteen minutes early at 9:15 p.m. on June 5 and arrived in Dusseldorf at 11:33 a.m. local time today. Jun 6, 2007

US Airways

New statistics from the U.S. Department of Transportation showed 63 percent of US Airways' April flights were on time. That ranked the Tempe, Ariz.-based carrier 20th among the 20 major U.S. carriers. Aloha Airlines was first with 89 percent of its flights on time. Southwest Airlines ranked fourth best with 84 percent of its April flights on time. Jun 6, 2007
