American takes credit cards for in-flight purchases. American Airlines on Monday began accepting credit and debit cards for onboard purchases. The airline will use handheld devices to process the purchases and will roll the service out over the next six weeks. May 4, 2006

CommutAir, Continental Connection

CommutAir, which operates as Continental Connection out of Plattsburgh, NY, signed an agreement with Continental Airlines to increase service from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Coordinates:

Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines, in spite of being technically insolvent and in Chapter 11, is aggressively expanding across the Atlantic and today inaugurates its first flight between the world's largest airline hub An airline hub is an airport that an airline uses as a transfer point to get passengers to their intended destination. United Airlines last month began implementing its Star Fix program through which flight attendants may use the aircraft phone to dial directly into maintenance for help resolving customers' issues with cabin equipment, VP-Customer Experience Sean Donahue said in a taped message to employees. "In many cases, [customer's] experience is defined by how well their seats work, if they can use the power jack or if they're able to read on an overnight flight," Donahue said. "With Star Fix, the flight attendants and maintenance technician can work together to identify many cabin issues that will enable a quicker repair or fix." May 2, 2006

United Express

United Express flights moved from Washington Dulles's Concourse G to the newly reopened Concourse A. The transition finished May 1. Concourse G was a temporary structure that eventually will be demolished to make way for future airport expansion. May 2, 2006
