With huge losses over the last 12 months chief executive and president Toshiyuki Shinmachi is facing what amounts a "coup d'etat" from within the ranks. Along with Katsuo Haneda, vice-president, and Hidekazu Nishizuka, a senior managing director, he has been asked to resign by senior management staff led by four executive directors. Mr. Shinmachi has only been in place for a year following the toppling of the previous CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
