The company operates three regional airline subsidiaries: Mesa Airlines, Freedom Airlines, and Air Midwest, and five supporting , Shenzhen Airlines Shenzhen Airlines (深圳航空) is a domestic budget airline based in Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. History The airline was established in October 1992 and started operations on 13 September 1993. Mesa Air Group signed an agreement with Shenzhen Airlines to create a Chinese regional carrier, yet to be named, that is expected to begin service within the next year operating 50-seat regional jets. Mesa said last spring it was looking to expand to the Chinese mainland. The deal is the first of its kind for any US regional. Shenzhen will have a 51% stake in the new carrier with an investment of $32.6 million. Mesa will invest $31.3 million for the remaining stake, according to according to prep. 1.
