Jetstar Airways is a low-cost airline based in Melbourne, Australia. It is a subsidiary of Qantas, created in response to the threat posed by low-cost airline Virgin Blue.
 

Jetstar Airways announced that it has received permission from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) is the Australian federal agency responsible for the regulation of private and commercial flight. Next year Jetstar will launch daily service to Osaka from Brisbane and Sydney on March 25, six-times-weekly Cairns-Nagoya flights (which will originate/end in Sydney twice-weekly) on Aug. 2 and four-times-weekly Cairns-Osaka service on Sept. 8.
