It operates a domestic network from Port Moresby and Lae, as well as limited international services. Its main base is Jacksons International Airport, Port Moresby[2]. Papua New Guinea Papua New Guinea (păp`  ə, –y has not been all that accessible from the UK and Europe in the past but this is expected to be improved with the introduction of a weekly Air Niugini service from Port Moresby Port Moresby (môrz`bē), town (1990 pop. 193,242), capital of Papua New Guinea, on New Guinea island and on the Gulf of Papua. Rubber, gold, and copra are exported. Port Moresby was founded by Capt. Air Niugini also serves Singapore (twice weekly) and Tokyo (weekly) plus regular flights to Brisbane. Air Niugini operates a major domestic network to townships and villages more or less cut off by road. It has a single Boeing 767 for long haul Long distance. Long haul implies traversing a state or a country. It operates over 330 daily flights to 50 destinations across the country and 6 overseas. Amritstar is to get nonstop flights from the UK starting August 4. Jet Airways will introduce a three times per week service from Heathrow to the major commercial, cultural and transportation hub Transportation hub is a location where traffic is exchanged across several modes of transport.
