Air India, Boeing

The carrier unveiled the first of six Boeing 747-400s with a refurbished cabin and upgraded inflight entertainment system. The cost of revamping each aircraft is estimated at $12.3 million. Jul 3, 2007

Air New Zealand

Air New Zealand will commence reciprocal codeshare flights with Air China effective July 1. Agreement will see Air China place its code on ANZ's Shanghai-Auckland and selected transtasman flights, while ANZ will codeshare on Air China's flights to Australia. Jun 28, 2007

Cebu Pacific

Cebu Pacific said it plans to launch service from Manila to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen and Macau in September and October with fares that are 85% lower than those currently available on the routes. Daily flights to Shanghai and Xiamen will begin Sept. 12 and 26 respectively. Four-times-weekly Guangzhou service will launch Oct. 10 and thrice-weekly Macau service the following day. Jun 28, 2007

China Southern Airlines

China Southern Airlines launched flights from Changsha to Cheongju (daily), Taeju (twice-weekly) and Gongju (twice-weekly) aboard Airbus A320s. Jun 28, 2007

Okay Airways

Okay Airways of Tianjin, as part of its accelerated preparation to launch a regional carrier, is nearing an order for 30 Xian MA60 turboprops. Negotiations with AVIC I are expected to conclude soon, Okay President Liu Jieyin announced yesterday. The airline signed an LOI at last year's Zhuhai Air Show for the aircraft, which are worth approximately CNY1.8 billion ($236.7 million). Liu also noted that the company will establish 5-6 bases for its regional subsidiary, which will operate principally in central and western China. Jul 6, 2007

Qantas, Jet Airways

Qantas and Jet Airways will expand their codeshare, with Jet passengers gaining access to QF services from Singapore to Australia. Jet operates daily flights to Singapore from Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai while QF operates a thrice-weekly Singapore-Mumbai service. Jun 26, 2007
