Etihad Airways Etihad Airways (Arabic: الإتحاد, ʼal-ʻitiħād) is the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates. Etihad is based in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE.

 program for five of its units--catering, cargo, ground handling, pilot training and technical services--and is preparing to submit its plan to national authorities for certification.
