Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines and US Airways yesterday tendered bids for routes from the U.S. to China. The new access comes as a result of an aviation agreement signed by China and the U.S. last week. The Transportation Department will award six new routes between 2007 and 2009. Jul 17, 2007

Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz Jazz Air LP (Air Canada Jazz) is a Canadian regional airline based in the Halifax Regional Municipality, at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Enfield, Nova Scotia.

Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines reported better-than-expected quarterly profits on Wednesday, helped by broadly higher ticket prices and relatively strong demand. Delta, recently out of a 19 month spell under bankruptcy protection, reported a large profit helped by one-time items related to its reorganization. Southwest, the leading US discount carrier, saw its net profit fall as its financial hedges provided less protection from rising fuel prices, but the decline was less than expected. Jul 19, 2007
