Sabre Airline Solutions Sabre Airline Solutions is a subsidiary of Sabre Holdings. The main product of Sabre Airline Solutions is the SabreSonic system. Avion Group, Excel Airways Group

Avion Group said its subsidiary company, Excel Airways Group, reached agreement to acquire 100% of the share capital of tour operator Kosmar Villa Holidays dba Kosmar Holidays effective May 2. Price was not disclosed. Avion said the purchase "will strengthen the Tour Operating Division of Excel Airways Group plc, which includes Excel Holidays, Freedom Flights, Travel City Direct, Aspire Holidays and the online portal XL.com." For the fiscal year ended Oct. 31, 2005, Kosmar Holidays had turnover of [pounds sterling]80.7 million ($140.6 million). Founder and Chairman Kostas Markou will stay with the company following the sale. Apr 11, 2006

Blue1

Blue1 reported a 35% increase in RPKs in March and a 28% rise in capacity. Domestic and international load factors climbed to 64.5% and 58.3% respectively. Passenger numbers increased 22% over the year-ago month to 146,000. The airline said it will open a route to Budapest next month. Apr 18, 2006

Iberia CEO Angel Mullor is resigning "in order to take on new personal and professional projects," the airline said yesterday. He joined IB in 1996 as MD and was elevated to CEO in 2001. Swiss International

Swiss International Air Lines Swiss International Air Lines (short: Swiss) is the principal airline of Switzerland operating scheduled services in Europe and to North America, South America, Africa and Asia. Its main hub is Zurich Kloten Airport (ZRH).  must seek out further cost-cutting opportunities in view of today's sky-high fuel prices, CEO Christoph Franz said during the Star Alliance meeting in Johannesburg. Labor costs in particular must come down. "We require much concessions from our employees. Now it is the turn of our Airbus pilots," he said. Negotiations with pilots are underway. Franz declined to provide specific savings targets, but said in a clear statement, "less money, more flying." Swiss already has implemented higher productivity on its A320 fleet. For the summer schedule, the fleet will have turnaround times reduced to 30 min. on some sectors, resulting in a 6% increase in productivity and the equivalent of 1.5 extra aircraft including improvements in the Avro fleet.
