At the same time, the company's current asset value of $2.45 million is expected to nearly double to $4.36 million in the next seven years. Both kitchens are operated by Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC), which is 90 percent owned by Emirates and 10 percent by Dubai's Department of Civil Aviation.  in union wage talks and expects to reach an accord within a week to avoid a threatened strike, the airline's president said on Friday. Earlier on Friday Turkish Airlines said in a statement to the stock exchange it had received notification from civil aviation union Hava-Is, which represents Turkish Airlines employees, of its decision to strike if no deal is reached. The union, which represents about 11,500 Turkish Airlines employees including pilots and stewards, said previously it would implement its strike in late July or early August if there is no deal. Friday's strike notification is now followed by a 60 day negotiation period. During this time the union can call a strike at any time, but must give six days' notice. The union had said employees were asking for higher wages and expanded benefits. Jul 23, 2007
