Airline's tale of 2 cities.

BUDGET airline Easyjet mixed up two Scots cities in their in-flight magazine.

The blunder - in a section promoting some of Britain's best golf courses - calls Edinburgh the Granite City Granite City, city (1990 pop. 32,862), Madison co., SW Ill., an industrial suburb of East St. Louis, on the Mississippi; inc. 1896. It has port and rail connections. , the nickname for Aberdeen.

An Edinburgh City Council spokeswoman said residents would see the gaffe as amusing. She added: "We just hope the planes land in the right place."

Easyjet apologised for the error. A spokeswoman said: "We are all very much aware of where the Granite City is and we know it is not the name for Edinburgh.

"This has been a mistake in the magazine and we would like to apologise v. 1. same as apologize.

Verb 1. apologise - defend, explain, clear away, or make excuses for by reasoning; "rationalize the child's seemingly crazy behavior"; "he rationalized his lack of success"
 if it caused any confusion."
