), today announced it will raise the price of bulk nitrous oxide an average of approximately 7 percent for national and international customers beginning April 14, 2003. Pricing will go into place in accordance with specific contract terms and conditions.

Rising costs of raw materials, energy, insurance and labor over the last two years are driving the need for the price increase.

Airgas Nitrous Oxide also will institute a fuel surcharge of roughly 2% to its bulk customers directly related to higher transportation costs experienced in recent months. The separate fuel surcharge is temporary and Airgas plans to reverse it once transportation costs subside sub·side
