Airgas Announces Pricing Actions Effective November 21, 2005.

) announced that effective November 21, 2005, or as contracts permit, its operating units will increase prices on packaged and bulk gases and other products. Prices will increase, on average, as follows:

--6%-8% for carbon dioxide carbon dioxide, chemical compound, CO2, a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas that is about one and one-half times as dense as air under ordinary conditions of temperature and pressure. , dry ice, specialty gases and medical gases

--8%-10% for certain packaged and bulk industrial gases, including oxygen and nitrogen

--12%-15% for hydrogen, helium, acetylene acetylene (əsĕt`əlēn') or ethyne (ĕth`īn), HC≡CH, a colorless gas. It melts at −80.8°C; and boils at −84.0°C;.  and other fuel gases

"We are in a period of tight supply and high demand, which combined with unprecedented increases in raw material costs, higher operating costs, including rising utility and labor costs, all factor into our need to take these actions," said Airgas Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter McCausland.
