Airespace Receives Top Honors in First Major Wireless LAN Performance Test.

Wins Network World's World Class Award in Comparison Test

Demonstrating Security, Management, Provisioning,

and Performance Capabilities

Airespace today announced that Network World has awarded Airespace's Wireless Enterprise Platform with one of the industry's most prestigious honors, its "World Class Award" for the wireless switch category. This award recognizes Airespace as one of today's most promising wireless LAN A local area network that transmits over the air typically in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz unlicensed frequency band. It does not require line of sight between sender and receiver. Wireless base stations (access points) are wired to an Ethernet network and transmit a radio frequency over an area  system companies in the industry.

-- Airespace's dynamic radio frequency adaptation did best when

handling potential interference situations

-- Airespace has the fastest and most tunable access points

(APs). The APs posted the highest transfer rates across the

board

-- Airespace offers a well-designed Web management interface and

good security features, and it has the fastest forwarding

rates

-- Airespace is the only vendor evaluated that supports SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) A widely used network monitoring and control protocol. Data are passed from SNMP agents, which are hardware and/or software processes reporting activity in each network device (hub, router, bridge, etc.

The Network World "World Class Award" is the second time that the Airespace solution has been recognized by a respected trade publication since first shipping in April 2003. Previously, the Airespace 4000 Wireless Switch was recognized in the annual InfoWorld Readers' Choice Awards as one of the "Best Wireless Products" of 2003.
