WLAN - wireless local area network
 Provides Strategic Platform for Real-Time

Virtual Seminars and Other Educational Applications

Airespace, Inc. announced today that Tokyo Law School has chosen the Airespace Wireless Enterprise Platform to deliver Wireless LAN A local area network that transmits over the air typically in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz unlicensed frequency band. It does not require line of sight between sender and receiver. Wireless base stations (access points) are wired to an Ethernet network and transmit a radio frequency over an area  (WLAN) services to students and faculty located in the school's Shibuya campus. The Airespace WLAN will be used to improve communications between teachers and students, while providing anytime/anywhere access to key educational services, including video on demand (VOD See video-on-demand.

"We wanted a robust wireless platform that could support a variety of educational applications, from basic Internet access See how to access the Internet.  to high-bandwidth video services," said Yoshiniro Okada, instructor of Tokyo Law School. "Airespace provided the perfect wireless platform for our school -- it is secure, reliable, and operates with little or no hands-on intervention."

The Airespace network consists of an Airespace 4000 WLAN Switch, Airespace 1200 Access Points, and Airespace Control System (ACS (Asynchronous Communications Server) See network access server. ) Software, which integrates WLAN planning and design with best-in-class management tools for cost-effective wireless deployment and operations. The Airespace Wireless Enterprise Platform comes equipped with AireWave Director(TM) Software, which is used to detect and adapt to RF changes in real-time for WLAN performance optimization and dynamic fault tolerance See fault tolerant.

"Shibuya is in the center of Tokyo, where there are lots of buildings that create a very 'noisy' RF environment," said Takahide Miyako, system engineer of NTT East. "While other WLAN systems have problems with interference, this is not an issue with Airespace. Their system dynamically adjusts itself to ensure perfect network performance, making it a perfect fit for this particular environment."

"Airespace combines the functionality of many different solutions into a single platform," said Masakatsu Maeda, sales manager sales manager ngerente m/f de ventas
