AircraftMarketPlace (ACMP ACMP American College of Medical Physics

FirstPeer's solution, unlike Client/Server based marketplaces, leverages P2P See peer-to-peer and point-to-point.  architecture, allowing direct reading from a supplier's database. The Java-based solution developed to J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) A platform from Sun for building distributed enterprise applications. Contrast with client based.  markets require catalog updates by suppliers to third-party databases in the host marketplace's format. Updating processes usually require large investments in time and technical expertise to translate existing information to fit the host format.

"We chose FirstPeer because it was the most simple and effective way to enable buyers and suppliers to use the Internet to list and source parts," said Dave Fisher, President of AircraftMarketPlace. "Our use of FirstPeer will make ACMP the easiest source of parts and accessories for our industry on the Internet. We needed a highly scalable, platform independent application, enabling dynamic trade with a powerful user interface that has flexible trading functionality. It is configurable to the unique needs of the general aviation industry."

John Young, COO of AircraftMarketPlace, previously employed by a supplier enablement Supplier Enablement is the process of electronically connecting suppliers (or other trading partners) to a company's supply chain. Supplier enablement is achieved when suppliers of goods and services are connected to a company's back-office systems to exchange critical business  focused software company, says he immediately recognized the value of FirstPeer when shown that suppliers weren't required to upload a catalog to join the marketplace, or publish their entire inventory to enable buyer queries for available parts.

"The solution is simple," Young said. "A supplier simply downloads the application, ties it to their database using provided ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) A database programming interface from Microsoft that provides a common language for Windows applications to access databases on a network.  and JDBC (Java DataBase Connectivity) A programming interface that lets Java applications access a database via the SQL language. Since Java interpreters (Java Virtual Machines) are available for all major client platforms, this allows a platform-independent database  connectors, and subscribes to the marketplace. Compared to current requirements for suppliers to join a marketplace, FirstPeer's CommerceSphere makes a lot of sense. I'm sure suppliers and buyers will see this."

Anticipating demand from numerous companies that would participate in its marketplace, ACMP sought a solution that would directly connect the online market with their suppliers' entire existing inventory, while using their existing eCommerce Web infrastructure that provides custom content to buyers.  drives the need for mechanics and pilots to be able to find parts and accessories as easily and quickly as possible.

"Although there are some very large parts suppliers in the aviation industry. The vast majority, are small and need a simple-to-use tool to help them leverage the Internet, leveling the playing field against their larger competitors. We've found just that in FirstPeer's CommerceSphere. We expect FirstPeer to be the foundation of our comprehensive marketplace platform," Young added.

"We are pleased to be able to provide real time peer to peer connectivity for ACMP's marketplace. It's very powerful for ACMP to be able to facilitate business for buyers and sellers regardless of the size or capital assets capital assets n. equipment, property, and funds owned by a business.
