WELSH PREMIER Port Talbot Port Talbot (tôl`bət), town (1981 pop. 40,078), Neath Port Talbot, S Wales, at the mouth of the Avon (Afan) River on Swansea Bay. Port Talbot is a popular seaside resort. Town 2 Airbus UK Broughton 1 AGAINST the run of play The term "against the run of play" is used in football (soccer) to describe an event or action against the flow of the game. For example, if team A is having all of the possession, all of the chances and are dictating the game, yet team B have one chance and score from it then that Port Talbot grabbed an 86th-minute winner, leaving an Airbus UK Broughton side which deserved at least a point from the clash heartbroken. The hosts started the better in a quiet opening half and forced the early pressure with a series of corners. It was Talbot's Scott Barrow who could have opened the scoring direct from a flag-kick as his inswinging effort was saved. Chances were few and far between in the first period, home goalkeeper Lee Kendall being rarely troubled with the windy conditions which were not helping either side play football. The game improved in the second period, Neil Thomas The Reverend Neil G. Thomas is the Senior Pastor of the Metropolitan Community Church in Los Angeles, California. The Metropolitan Community Churches is an international movement of churches reaching in and beyond the gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, queer, questioning, and inter-sex scoring his first goal for Port on 56 minutes with a well-taken effort from the edge of the Airbus area. The goal came against the run of play as Airbus had emerged a far more organised side in the second half and dominated possession without creating any real chances. They soon grabbed an equaliser through the league's leading scorer as a defensive mix-up allowed Marc Lloyd-Williams to slot the ball past Kendall for his 10th goal of what is proving yet again to be a very fruitful season. The Wingmakers were boosted by the goal and played the far better football as Port struggled to retain possession and were continually pushed back as Airbus went in search of a winner. Kendall was called into action as the visitors relentlessly pressured the home defence but a second away goal never came in an otherwise frustrating day for the Wingmakers. And the winner arrived four minutes from time as Liam McCreesh found himself in space inside the area and slotted home a cross from the right with a neat flick to grab an unlikely winner.
