Airangel in jobs pledge as pounds 500,000 bank funding package secured.

The funding, which has been provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland

The Royal Bank of Scotland Plc (Scottish Gaelic: Banca Rìoghail na h-Alba
, via the Enterprise Finance Guarantee scheme, will provide working capital to support the expansion plan.

The company aims to increase its number of staff from 10 to 18, and is predicting an increase in turnover from pounds 1m to pounds 2.5m next year.

Founded in 2004, Airangel is a supplier of wired and wireless guest internet access for hotel chains, conference venues and corporate organisations.

The firm's clients include Malmaison, Radisson SAS (1) (SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, www.sas.com) A software company that specializes in data warehousing and decision support software based on the SAS System. Founded in 1976, SAS is one of the world's largest privately held software companies. See SAS System.  and De Vere. More than 9,000 hotel rooms across the country provide WI-fI services via Airangel.

Managing director Mike Gardner said: "We have ambitious plans to grow the business during the next 12 months, and are actively looking to expand into new markets such as student accommodation and public waiting areas."
