:AAI AAI American Association of Immunologists. ), announced today that John F. Fiedler has been elected to the AirTran Holdings Board of Directors. The election took place at the company's annual shareholders meeting this morning at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, Ga.

Presently, Fiedler is chairman of the board of directors of Chicago-based BorgWarner Inc., as well as a director of the company. He most recently served as chief executive officer of the company after he was named to the position in January 1995. Prior to that, he served as president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)
