AirTran Announces Fall Sale One-Way Fares Start at $50.


ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 30, 1998--AirTran today announced a fall sale for select cities throughout its system. Fall sale fares range from $50 to $111 one-way for travel from October 8, 1998 through January 31, 1999. -0-

Following are a few of the fall sale fares (travel may originate in
either city; fares are one-way):
         Buffalo and Memphis                   $101
         Akron/Canton and Fort Lauderdale   $91
         Dallas and Tampa                    $87
         Dayton and Dallas                    $91
         Dayton and Fort Myers                    $91
         Hartford and Memphis                    $81
         Flint and Tampa                    $68
         New York (La Guardia) and Miami    $81

AirTran is the second largest airline serving Atlanta, and recently announced a further expansion of service this fall. With the planned expansion, AirTran will be operating 130 daily departures from Atlanta to 29 destinations. Additionally, AirTran offers the convenience of easy, same concourse connections in Atlanta.

AirTran, recipient of Entrepreneur magazine's 1998 award for "Best Domestic Low-Fare Airline," provides full service, everyday affordable air travel throughout the eastern United States and Midwest. Unlike other airlines, AirTran never requires a roundtrip purchase or Saturday night stay. Currently operating a fleet of 50 jet aircraft, AirTran is the launch customer for the new Boeing 717 with a firm order of 50 aircraft and options for another 50. Delivery of these aircraft commences next summer. Rules and restrictions: All fares are one-way. All fares are non-refundable, and a $45 fee applies to any change made after purchase plus any applicable increase in airfare. All fares require a seven day advance purchase. All travel must be completed by January 31, 1999. Travel is blacked out November 24 through November 30, 1998 and December 18, 1998 through January 4, 1999. Seats are limited, subject to availability and may not be available on all flights. Fares and schedules are subject to change without notice. Airport passenger facility charges of up to $12 are not included.
