AirTran Airways Reports Another Record Month - 25 Consecutive Months of Year-Over-Year Load Factor Improvement -.

AirTran Airways AirTran Airways is a low-cost airline that is a Delaware corporation with headquarters in Orlando, Florida, USA and is a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings. AirTran operates over 750 daily flights throughout the eastern USA and the Midwest, including over 270 daily departures from  today reported record traffic for the month of April and the airline's 25th consecutive month of year-over-year load factor improvement. Traffic grew by 4.9 percent in April 2000 versus April 1999, on 2.8 percent more capacity. The airline's load factor was 69.1 percent for the month of April, up 1.3 points from a year ago. Both passenger traffic and load factor are all-time company records for the month of April.

"We are pleased to announce our 25th consecutive month of increased passenger load factor," said Robert Fornaro, AirTran Airways' president and chief financial officer. "April is typically a good month for AirTran Airways, and again in 2000, load factor improvement combined with increased yield resulted in very strong unit revenue growth," Fornaro said.
