AirTran Airways Continues Ramp-Up of Scheduled Flight Operations.

Airline Expects to Operate Approximately 70 Percent of

Normal Schedule Today, Saturday; Up to 80 Percent on Sunday

 operations, with approximately 70 percent of its scheduled 324 daily departures to be operated today and Saturday. Plans call for a further increase on Sunday, to about 80 percent capacity. Service levels beyond Sunday are being evaluated based on expected demand.

Flights will be operated to at least 31 of AirTran Airways' 34 destinations. Service to Boston's Logan Airport is still suspended, and operations to both Newark Airport in New Jersey, and New York's LaGuardia Airport LaGuardia Airport (IATA: LGA, ICAO: KLGA, FAA LID: LGA) is an airport serving New York City, New York, United States, located on the waterfront of Flushing Bay, and borders the neighborhoods of Astoria, Jackson Heights and East Elmhurst in the borough  remain uncertain today.

-- Passengers only will be permitted through airport security checkpoints.

 or passport) at airport security checkpoints in order to proceed to the departure gate.

-- If a passenger does not have a printed ticket, boarding pass or e-ticket reservations receipt, the passenger must go to the airport ticket counter to check in and get a boarding pass in order to proceed through the security checkpoint. Passengers may also call 1-800-AIR-TRAN to receive a reservations receipt via e-mail or fax.

-- No knives of any length or description will be allowed into the cabin of an aircraft or beyond any security screening checkpoint.

-- Curbside baggage check-in has been suspended. All bags must be checked at an AirTran Airways ticket counter.

-- Please allow for extra time at the airport to comply with the increased security measures. We recommend that you arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight departure time.

Re-accommodation Policies

Previously booked or ticketed AirTran Airways passengers who were scheduled to travel between September 11-18, 2001, may have tickets changed with no change fee, provided travel is completed by November 1, 2001. Passengers who have paper tickets issued by travel agencies need to have their travel agency re-issue those tickets. Passengers who have electronic tickets may contact AirTran Airways directly to get re-booked. Passengers can also request credit for future travel for up to one year from the date of their original booking.

AirTran Airways will provide additional information via http://www.airtran.com and through its reservations system as information becomes available.
