) announces today the appointment of Thomas Kalil to senior vice president of customer service. Currently a senior vice president at the company, Kalil has taken on the expanded role of senior vice president of customer service. In this position, Kalil will oversee the airline's customer service, airport operations, baggage service, inflight service, catering, cargo and consumer relations.

Kalil joined AirTran Airways in 1995 and has more than 30 years of experience in the airline industry. Prior to joining AirTran Airways, Kalil most recently served as senior vice president - customer service for Continental Airlines where he oversaw o·ver·saw

Kalil earned his B.B.A. degree at Northeast Louisiana University.
