AirTran Airways Appoints Susan Manfredi As Vice President of Inflight Service.

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 2002

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc., (NYSE:AAI), announced today that Susan Manfredi has been appointed to the position of vice president of inflight service, a new position. Based in the airline's hub at Atlanta, Ga., Manfredi will be responsible for managing the more than 1,000 flight attendants at AirTran Airways and for delivering a consistent inflight product to our customers.

With more than 20 years of experience in the airline industry, Manfredi most recently served as a senior account executive with Northwest Airlines. In addition, Manfredi has served as a manager of customer service, assistant manager of inflight service and flight attendant manager at Northwest Airlines.

Manfredi began her airline career as a flight attendant at Hughes Airwest. She then worked for Republic Airlines and American Airlines as a flight attendant. Manfredi earned a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Georgia State University and an M.S. degree in Administration from Central Michigan University. A native of Reno, Nevada, Manfredi will be relocating from Detroit to Atlanta.
