:AAI AAI American Association of Immunologists. ) announces today the appointment of Richard P. Magurno to senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. Reporting directly to Joe Leonard, chairman and chief executive officer, Magurno will oversee the airline's legal affairs.

Magurno has an extensive aviation legal background - having served as senior vice president and general counsel for both Trans World Airlines Trans World Airlines, commonly known as TWA, was a major American airline company that was acquired by American Airlines in April 2001. Magurno began his airline career in 1970 as a staff attorney at Eastern Air Lines. In 1980, Magurno was appointed vice president - legal, and was named assistant secretary for Eastern. In 1984, he was promoted to senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Eastern. From 1989 to 1994, he served as a partner in the law firm of Lord, Day & Lord, Barrett Smith in New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
, New York. In 1994, Magurno was named senior vice president and general counsel of Trans World Airlines - a position he held until 1998. Most recently, Magurno operated a private aviation consulting practice.

Magurno earned a B.S. degree at Georgetown University, an M.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin and a law degree from Fordham University School of Law Fordham University School of Law (commonly known as Fordham Law or Fordham Law School) is a part of Fordham University in the United States. The School is located in the Borough of Manhattan in New York City, and is one of eight ABA-approved law schools in that city. . Magurno is a member of the bar of both the states of New York and Florida, and he is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court United States Supreme Court: see Supreme Court, United States.  and several federal appellate and district courts.
