AirTran Airways Appoints New VP of Maintenance and Engineering.

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 25, 2000

AirTran Airways AirTran Airways is a low-cost airline that is a Delaware corporation with headquarters in Orlando, Florida, USA and is a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings. AirTran operates over 750 daily flights throughout the eastern USA and the Midwest, including over 270 daily departures from  announces today the appointment of Guy A. Borowski to vice president of Maintenance and Engineering. In this position, Borowski will oversee line maintenance, heavy maintenance, engineering, quality assurance, quality control, maintenance control and maintenance planning.

Borowski, formerly with Canadian Airlines Canadian Airlines International Ltd. was, from 1987 until 2001, Canada's second largest airline after Air Canada, carrying more than 11.9 million passengers to over 160 destinations in 17 countries on five continents at its height in 1996.  as director of Major Base Maintenance, will assume the executive position at AirTran Airways in Orlando.

Borowski began his career at Canadian Airlines as an engineer in structures engineering, later managing reliability and maintenance programs, maintenance audits, and powerplant planning and production control before being promoted to Director, Major Base Maintenance in 1998. Before joining Canadian Airlines in 1987, Borowski worked as an engineer with Bombardier, formerly Canadair.
