The NonStop line was created by Tandem Computers, which was acquired by Compaq, which later became part of HP.  service to General Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee, WI, the airline's 38th destination. The airline will launch one daily nonstop flight between Milwaukee and Orlando and two daily nonstop flights between Milwaukee and Atlanta, with connections to dozens of additional destinations. Service begins June 19, 2002, and tickets are now available for purchase. All flights to/from Milwaukee will operate using new Boeing 717 aircraft.

AirTran Airways is offering special introductory fares as low as $68 one-way between Milwaukee and Atlanta and $79 one-way between Milwaukee and Orlando to celebrate the new service. All introductory fare tickets must be purchased by April 16, 2002, and travel must be completed by September 30, 2002. Introductory fares require a seven-day advance purchase.
