Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) were 461,764,000, a 56.6 percent increase from October 2001, while Available Seat Miles Available seat miles (ASM) is a measure of an airline flight's passenger carrying capacity. It is equal to the number of seats available multiplied by the number of miles flown. This measures an airlines capacity for transporting passengers.  (ASMs) were 738,140,000, a 50.0 percent increase. Load factor was 62.6 percent in October 2002 compared to 59.9 percent in October 2001.

AirTran Airways served 801,555 passengers in October, a 48.0 increase from October 2001. For the first 10 months of 2002, AirTran Airways served 7,946,141 passengers - a 13.7 percent increase over the same period of 2001. All categories are company records.
