Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs) were 465,878,000, a 34.7 percent increase from November 2001, while Available Seat Miles Available seat miles (ASM) is a measure of an airline flight's passenger carrying capacity. It is equal to the number of seats available multiplied by the number of miles flown. This measures an airlines capacity for transporting passengers.  (ASMs) were 719,810,000, a 35.6 percent increase. Load factor was 64.7 percent in November 2002 compared to 65.1 percent in November 2001.

AirTran Airways served a record 797,224 passengers in November, a 26.4 percent increase from November 2001. For the first 11 months of 2002, AirTran Airways served 8,743,365 passengers - a 14.7 percent increase over the same period of 2001. The airline begins new service to its 40th destination, West Palm Beach, Fla., from its Atlanta hub with three flights a day beginning December 10, 2002.
