, Local 528, today jointly announced the ratification of a new five-year contract, extending to March 2006, covering the airline's technical training instructors. The new agreement, reached in direct negotiation without the assistance of federal mediators, provides for increased wages, benefits and job security over the life of the contract.

"We're very happy to reach another milestone with the Teamsters, as we did last year with the five-year collective bargaining agreement The contractual agreement between an employer and a Labor Union that governs wages, hours, and working conditions for employees and which can be enforced against both the employer and the union for failure to comply with its terms.  that covers our Mechanic and Inspector work force," said Stephen Kolski, AirTran Airways Senior Vice President of Operations. "This new contract demonstrates our continuing commitment to provide increased rewards for our hard-working and productive Employee-Crew Members and our continued good working relationship with the Teamsters leadership."
