AirTran Airways, National Pilots Association Announce Tentative Five-Year Contract.

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 30, 2001

), which represents AirTran Airways' work force of approximately 540 pilots, today announced they have reached a tentative agreement on a new five-year contract. The tentative agreement was reached two months before the amendable date of the current contract. The NPA Board of Directors unanimously agreed to send the tentative agreement to the union membership for ratification.

Terms of the agreement with the NPA will not be publicly disclosed until pilots have completed a membership ratification vote.

"The fact that we reached this tentative agreement at this time is a testament to the relationship between AirTran Airways and its pilots and the NPA," said Captain Klaus Goersch, AirTran Airways' Vice President of Flight Operations. "We look forward to continuing to improve upon the mutual trust and rapport that has been established between the Company and one of the finest groups of aviation professionals in the industry."

Systemwide, AirTran Airways operates 310 daily departures to 34 cities.
