AirTouch Paging To BETA Test Enhanced Messaging Systems' New EnVISION System.


HURST, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 17, 1996--Enhanced Messaging Systems, Inc. announced today that AirTouch Paging has entered into an agreement to BETA test A test of new or revised hardware or software that is performed by users at their facilities under normal operating conditions. Beta testing follows alpha testing. Vendors of packaged software often offer their customers the opportunity of beta testing new releases or versions, and the  its new EnVISION(tm) system. The EnVISION system is a network solution which enables wireless messaging carriers to seamlessly network their systems and sites together. Enhanced Messaging Systems announced earlier this week that the EnVISION system will be making its debut at the PCS (1) (Personal Communications Services) Refers to wireless services that emerged after the U.S. government auctioned commercial licenses in 1994 and 1995. The BETA testing (programming) beta testing - Testing a pre-release (potentially unreliable) version of a piece of software by making it available to selected users. This term derives from early 1960s terminology for product cycle checkpoints, first used at IBM but later standard throughout the  is scheduled to begin this month in Dallas. General product availability for the EnVISION system is scheduled for October 1996, following completion of BETA tests.
