AirTouch Offers New Prepaid Calling Cards Including New Card Commemorating World Cup Soccer Action; Special World Cup Sweepstakes Now Underway.


IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 10, 1998--AirTouch-Southern California is now offering new prepaid calling card denominations at lower rates, and a special calling card commemorating World Cup Soccer for AirTouch Prepaid Cellular service.

The new prepaid card denominations are in response to customer requests and build on the public's acceptance of prepaid cellular service.

AirTouch Prepaid Cellular calling cards are now available in $30, $50 and $100 denominations, with per-minute rates of $0.75, $0.625 and $0.50, respectively. With AirTouch prepaid service, there are no extra charges for long distance calls. The home calling area encompasses the entire AirTouch-Southern California service area, from Ventura to the Mexican border.

"Because there is no credit check, no deposit and no contract required, this program has great appeal for budget-conscious customers," said Patrick Trepanier, product manager for AirTouch. "The calling cards allow customers to prepay for cellular service by credit card or by purchasing a card at an authorized AirTouch retail location."

AirTouch is also offering, while supplies last, a commemorative $30 prepaid card that captures the spirit of the 1998 World Cup Soccer tournament with a picture of international soccer action.
