AirTouch Confirms Discussions.


SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 3, 1999--AirTouch Communications (NYSE:ATI) today confirmed that discussions are taking place with Bell Atlantic (NYSE:BEL) that could lead to a possible combination between the two companies. The AirTouch Board of Directors has not approved a transaction and significant issues still remain unresolved. AirTouch said that there can be no assurance that any transaction will result from these discussions.

No further comment will be made until both parties have reached a definitive agreement or until discussions have been terminated.
