AirTouch Communications Names Lee Cox Vice Chairman; Makes New Appointments to Other Key Management Posts.

By mid 1995, when the U S WEST and AirTouch joint venture is expected to close, Cox will add the Wireless Management Company executives to his team of direct reports. This group of executives will have responsibility for achieving scope and scale efficiencies from combining the companies' cellular operations.

Other AirTouch executive moves were announced today following the appointment of George Schmitt, (Age 51) former executive vice president of AirTouch's international operations to the newly created position of president and chief executive officer of its national PCS partnership. The partnership, announced in October, includes AirTouch, Bell Atlantic, NYNEX and U S WEST and will bid on PCS licenses beginning December 5, 1994 under the name PCS PrimeCo.

Replacing Schmitt is Arun Sarin Arun Sarin (Hindi:अरुण सरीन) (born October 21 1954, in Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh, India) is the CEO of the world's biggest mobile phone company (by revenue), Britain's Vodafone Group plc. , (Age 40) who will become senior vice president corporate strategy/development, human resources and international operations. He will take on responsibility for the company's fast-growing cellular and paging ventures in 10 countries overseas, in addition to his current role as head of the strategy/development and human resources groups.
