AirTouch Cellular Venture Begins Service in India; Company is First Cellular Operator in Madhya Pradesh.

The capital is Bhopal. , one of the most populous states in India, has launched service in the major cities of Indore and Bhopal.

The company, operating under the name RPG (Report Program Generator) One of the first program generators designed for business reports, introduced in 1964 by IBM. In 1970, RPG II added enhancements that made it a mainstay programming language for business applications on IBM's System/3x midrange computers.  Cellcom Ltd. (RPG), is the first cellular operator to launch service in the state of Madhya Pradesh, which has 73 million people. Indore is the commercial center of the region and has a population of more than one million. Bhopal, the state capital, also has more than one million people. Service is expected to begin in several other district capitals soon, and will be extended to most of the commercial centers throughout the state over the next 18 months.
