The RDS is used with AirPatrol's Wireless Locator System (WLS), the only wireless intrusion detection and location system for managing both 802.11 WLAN Device and Cellular Device security. The RDS is a standard WLS Sensor, a wireless mesh backhaul and a rechargeable battery packaged in a compact, rugged, weatherproof case. The RDS's built-in wireless mesh node eliminates the need for network cabling between sensors. Network connectivity between the WLS Sensors and the laptop hosting the WLS Management application is achieved through the 802.11-based wireless mesh.
