AirNet Announces $1.5M in Expansion Orders From TECORE; Orders Will Expand Coverage Footprint in Afghanistan.

), the technology leader in software defined base station products for wireless communications, today announced that it has received approximately $1.5M in expansion purchase orders from TECORE Wireless Systems for deployment in the Afghan Wireless mobile network. These orders are for the purchase of AirNet's latest product, the Triple Capacity Digital AirSite(R) Backhaul Free(TM) base station, commonly known as the "Trip Cap" and installation/commissioning services.

In March 2002, TECORE placed approximately $10M in purchase orders with AirNet for deployment of an initial system in Afghanistan. Afghan Wireless has turned on service in Kabul, Herat, and Mazar-i-Sharif. Other regional markets are scheduled to come on line later this year. AirNet and TECORE personnel have been "in-country" over the last six months deploying the initial system for Afghan Wireless.
