AirMagnet Announces Availability of Joint Mobility Solution with Aruba Networks; University of Calgary Deploys AirMagnet Enterprise Analyzer-Aruba System for Campus-Wide Wi-Fi.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- AirMagnet Inc., the award-winning leader in wireless network assurance, announced the availability of its wireless LAN A local area network that transmits over the air typically in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz unlicensed frequency band. It does not require line of sight between sender and receiver. Wireless base stations (access points) are wired to an Ethernet network and transmit a radio frequency over an area  analyzer analyzer /ana·ly·zer/ (an´ah-li?zer)

The product, AirMagnet Enterprise Analyzer, enables Aruba's enterprise customers to remotely troubleshoot To find out why something does not work and to fix the problem. Troubleshooting a computer often requires determining whether the problem is due to malfunctioning hardware or buggy or out-of-date software. The AirMagnet Enterprise Analyzer provides real-time remote troubleshooting Troubleshooting is a form of problem solving. It is the systematic search for the source of a problem so that it can be solved. Troubleshooting is often a process of elimination - eliminating potential causes of a problem.  without the need for any new hardware, performing wireless monitoring and troubleshooting from new or existing Aruba's access points (APs) while the APs are simultaneously providing network connectivity to end users. "We have hundreds of Aruba APs deployed across our campus and we need the ability to troubleshoot the wireless network without trekking all over campus. The AirMagnet Enterprise Analyzer enables us to make sure our wireless network is running smoothly -- all from our central office," said Dean Berschl, senior security analyst for the University of Calgary. "We're now much more effective and efficient at troubleshooting wireless -- this is an essential tool for anyone with an Aruba network."

The unique capabilities of the Aruba infrastructure allow the AirMagnet Enterprise Analyzer to support Aruba APs in both the standard AP mode and air monitor mode. In the AP mode, the analyzer receives a real-time data Real-time data denotes information that is delivered immediately after collection. The AirMagnet Enterprise Analyzer easily integrates with existing Aruba installations, when running ArubaOS Mobility Software version 2.5.3 or later. Enhancements in Aruba's latest mobility software version make it 10 times more scalable than any other enterprise WLAN See wireless LAN.
