AirLogix, Inc. and Blue Cross Blue Shield Kansas City Announce Disease Management Contract.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield Blue Shield A US not-for-profit health care insurer that is a reimbursement intermediary for physicians. AirLogix will provide respiratory wellness care to approximately 136,000 BCBSKC members with asthma asthma (ăz`mə, ăs`–), chronic inflammatory respiratory disease characterized by periodic attacks of wheezing, shortness of breath, and a tight feeling in the chest. A cough producing sticky mucus is symptomatic.  and COPD COPD chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

). AirLogix has significant experience with total population disease management as they have serviced several other health plans of this size in both asthma and COPD.

The implementation phase of this contract started on March 6, 2000 and BCBSKC members are already being visited by AirLogix home respiratory therapists.
