AirLink and Nextel Form Strategic Joint Marketing and Technology Partnership; Companies Will Jointly Distribute and Market Rugged Wireless Modems, Delivering Remote Monitoring and Pervasive Connectivity to Fixed and Mobile Assets.


HAYWARD, Calif. & RESTON, Va. -- AirLink Communications Inc., a pioneer and leading provider of fixed and mobile wireless data solutions, and Nextel Communications Nextel Communications, styled NEXTEL, (Former NASDAQ: NXTL) which is now known as the Sprint Nextel Corporation was a telecommunications firm based in the United States. (Nasdaq:NXTL) today announced the availability of AirLink Raven raven, common name for the largest member of the family Corvidae (crow family), ranging throughout the arctic and temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. The raven, Corvus corax, is a glossy black scavenging bird about 26 in.  and PinPoint modems on Nextel's nationwide digital wireless network. The AirLink Raven and PinPoint modems are the first products available as part of a larger partnership agreement between the companies to co-market wireless data solutions for various fixed and mobile applications. These solutions will be targeted across industry segments including transportation, distribution, public safety, utilities, infrastructure and telecommunications.

All AirLink products which utilize Motorola's iDEN technology are tested for compatibility with the Nextel network, assuring customers of optimal performance and product support.
