AirGate PCS, Inc. Announces Network Open for Sprint PCS Coverage Between Atlanta and Augusta, Georgia.

AirGate PCS, Inc., (Nasdaq/NM:PCSA), a Sprint PCS (NYSE: PCS) Network Partner, announced today that the Sprint PCS nationwide, all-digital wireless, network along portions of the Interstate 20 corridor between the cities of Atlanta and Augusta, Georgia, as well as the metropolitan Augusta area, is now open for Sprint PCS coverage. AirGate will receive revenue from Sprint PCS on behalf of their customers who use that portion of the Sprint PCS nationwide network managed by AirGate, while traveling along this busy stretch of interstate highway. In addition, the Company will receive roaming revenue from other wireless carriers with whom Sprint PCS has roaming agreements.

AirGate and Sprint PCS settle the exchange of revenue under their management agreement. There are no additional charges for Sprint PCS customers who have selected one of the national Sprint PCS Free & Clear Plans that features free long distance calling from a Sprint PCS Phone and no roaming charges anywhere on the Sprint PCS nationwide, wireless network.
